No FA Youth Cup progression for Millwall as they fall at third round hurdle for second season in a row

Millwall exited the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night after a 6-5 penalty defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Sydie Peck put the home side 1-0 ahead on 71 minutes but the Lions levelled the third round tie with three minutes of normal time remaining, Tom Leahy bending the ball past the keeper from the edge of the box.

Chinwike Okoli had a chance to win the tie in the shootout after Millwall converted their first four penalties but Callum Hiddleston saved. The next two efforts were kept out before George Walker made it 5-5.

Hiddleston made his third and decisive penalty stop to deny Lions defender Oliver Evans.

Sheffield United will face Everton in round four.

It is the second season that Millwall, quarter-finalists in 2020, have exited at this stage of the competition. Last time they lost
4-0 to Middlesbrough.
