Non-league: Bromley boss Smith says sorry for FA Trophy display
Bromley manager Neil Smith has apologised to fans for their 3-0 FA Trophy defeat at Dorking Wanderers.
The Ravens are third in the National League and only have that competition to focus on after a disappointing display at Meadowbank.
Smith gave his players a dressing room blast. He said: “I just told them that’s unacceptable.
“As much as we’ve been patted on our back for where we are in the division I can’t have that and I won’t have that.
“We looked like we only had 12 players out there – and that’s in respect of off the bench as well.
“I apologise to the supporters who have been brilliant backing us. They’ve been so behind us. We’ve let them down.”
“We wanted a run in the cups but we’ll come back stronger. We’ve got to come back stronger – I don’t want that feeling again against a resurgent Eastleigh side [tomorrow] who have done well in the FA Cup.”
Chris Bush is serving a three-game ban. The defender missed last weekend’s fixture as he was hit with retrospective punishment for an incident in the match against Chesterfield.
Dulwich Hamlet’s wait for a National League South win goes on after Tuesday’s home match against Havant & Waterlooville was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
A 10am inspection was carried out.
Dulwich head to fellow strugglers Hungerford Town tomorrow. Gavin Rose’s side have not won in the league since August 24 and collected just five points from a possible 30.
Tooting & Mitcham’s game at Westfield on Tuesday was also postponed.
The Terrors – six points behind leaders Hanwell Town but with three matches in hand – go to South Park tomorrow in the Isthmian South Central Division.
