BY LUCAS BALL

Bromley ran out 5-1 winners at Ashford United on Saturday in a battle involving former Millwall team-mates,.

Former Lions striker Gary Alexander is in charge at Ashford with Alan Dunne player-coach at Bromley.

The Ravens went ahead early on when Jack Holland headed in after just three minutes from a pinpoint delivery before Dean Grant equalised minutes later for the home side, slotting the ball past the outstretched David Gregory, who got a hand to the effort.

Debuting their new away kit, Bromley were not to be stopped. Ashford-born winger Bobby Joe-Taylor netted before half time.

Eleven changes were made by the South London outfit at half time, with the second half team comprising mainly of trialists and new signings.

It took until the 76th minute for there to be another goal, Dunne grabbing an assist at the Homelands Stadium. It was Omar Bugiel’s excellent header from six yards that gave the away side a two-goal lead.

Bugiel grabbed his second of the day on 87 minutes.

One of Bromley’s trialists added a fifth goal.
