Non-league round-up: Bromley can’t close gap on National League leaders

Bromley missed out on the chance to close the gap to National League leaders Notts County after Daniel John Ward scored a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Gateshead on Saturday.

Louis Dennis met Harry Forster’s low cross at the back post in the 72nd minute to give Andy Woodman’s side the lead. But the visitors equalised eight minutes later.

Bromley are six points off the top spot in the fifth tier but extended their unbeaten run to five games.

“I felt it was a below-par performance in some aspects,” said Bromley manager Woodman. “We go a goal in front, and you feel it could be enough to be one of those ugly 1-0 wins, but it wasn’t to be.”

Bromley host National League North side Hereford FC in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup tomorrow.
Thomas Stagg scored a last-minute consolation goal for Cray Wanderers as the Isthmian League Premier Division club lost 3-1 to Hanwell Town in the FA Trophy.

Tooting & Mitcham United host Westfield in the Isthmian League South Central Division tomorrow.

Fisher remain bottom of the SCEFL Premier Division following a 2-1 defeat at Bearsted last weekend. Jacob Katonia equalised in the 51st minute for The Fish.

Sineen Sineen scored twice as Lewisham Borough beat Bermondsey Town 5-0 in the SCEFL First Division last weekend.

A 48th-minute goal from Alex Keating moved Tooting Bec up to fifth in the table after a 1-0 win away to Faversham Strike Force.

Forest Hill Park travel to AFC Whyteleafe tomorrow.
