Non-league round-up: Bromley extend unbeaten run after Eastleigh victory and Dulwich suffer defeat at table-topping Hornchurch
Andy Woodman has urged his Bromley side to keep churning out results after they extended their National League unbeaten run to 10 games thanks to Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at home to Eastleigh.
The Ravens claimed all three points when Millwall loanee Chin Okoli headed past Eastleigh keeper Joe McDonnell in the 34th minute.
Bromley moved up to fifth in the National League table – nine points behind league leaders Chesterfield – and have won six out of their 10 unbeaten run.
“It’s great, isn’t it?” Woodman told Bromley’s YouTube channel.
“It’s amazing. 10 games unbeaten and six wins but we’re still not in the top three.
“We just have to keep churning out these results and taking care of our business.
“We’re taking care of that as players and staff.
“We were excellent tonight, other than the first 10 minutes. We should have had five or six, and we might have kicked ourselves if they had nicked one at the end.Â
“We were in real control of the game for most of the match – it was a real good performance by us.
“We created a lot of chances and should have put them away. We have to be more ruthless in those situations.
“But you’re not going to win three or four every week and I have to be pleased with the clean sheet.
“It’s a game that nobody will really remember at the end of the season. But it’s a very good three points at home.”
Bromley host Gateshead – level on points in the table but head goal difference – at Hayes Lane on Saturday.
Dulwich Hamlet suffered a 2-1 defeat at top of the table Hornchurch on Tuesday evening.
Ex-Millwall striker Steve Morison – boss of Hornchurch – saw his side race into a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes thanks to a brace from Liam Nash.
Hamlet pulled one back with 11 minutes of normal time reaming through Adrian Clifton, but Hakan Hayrettin’s side headed back to South London with defeat.
Dulwich go into this weekend’s match 16th in the Isthmian League Premier Division and head to Cheshunt.
