Non-league round-up: Dulwich on the rise in Isthmian League Premier Division

Dulwich Hamlet have climbed to fourth in the Isthmian League Premier Division after a 5-2 win over Horsham on Saturday.

Hakan Hayrettin’s side have won their last three matches in the league.

Danny Mills and Luke Wanadio both scored twice for Hamlet with Louis Ramsay also on target.

“We had them watched and we stopped them from playing – because they are an exceptional team who like to rotate and come out with the ball from the back,” Hayrettin told Dulwich’s website.

“They try to play through the thirds and we stopped that.

“Our game plan worked in the first half, we deserved to be in front and scored some excellent goals.

“Everyone put in a shift today.

“We played with a lot of discipline and that is just as important to me as the ability.

“I like to play with attacking football and width – we go again.”

Dulwich have been drawn at Dartford in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy. The tie will take place on October 5.

Cray Valley PM are one place below their South London neighbours and occupy the final play-off position.

They drew 1-1 with Billericay Town on Saturday. Danny Waldren put the Millers ahead in the 35th minute but it was cancelled out by Ashley Nzala just before the hour mark.

Cray Wanderers are bottom of the standings and lost 3-1 at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday, Kenny Coker with their consolation goal.

Welling United were demolished 6-0 at Boreham Wood on Saturday with Charlie Pegrum sent off for two bookable offences.

It is the first time the Wings have conceding six goals since 2021.

Goalkeeper Rhys Lovett was one of the few Welling to come out of the game with any credit as his saves prevented an even more damaging scoreline.

Manager Rod Stringer said: “Myself, the staff and the players have to apologise to the supporters for that, because it was nowhere near good enough.

“Boreham Wood’s standards today were outstanding – and their movement off the ball.

“I went with quite an experienced team, starting with two up front, but they had so much time on the ball to hurt us, it was men against boys.”
