Non-league round-up: Dulwich’s Bank Holiday blues as Welling win – Ravens suffer heavy reverse

Dulwich Hamlet are 19th in the National League South standings after a 2-1 defeat to Welling United on Monday.

The Wings took a second minute lead in front of a crowd of 2,320 at Champion Hill, Hamlet captain Frankie Raymond diverting a Taylor Maloney free-kick into his own net.

Welling United keeper Myles Roberts denied Jayden Clarke before the visitors extended their advantage in first-half injury time.

Amadou Kassarate finished from close range at the near post from Ade Azeez’s cross.

Dulwich manager Gavin Rose brought on Danny Mills and Nana Owusu at the start of the second half – Michael Timlin and Quade Taylor making way – and the former cut the deficit with a powerful header on 68 minutes.

Hamlet have taken five points from six matches and head to Tonbridge Angels tomorrow.

Bromley had mixed results in the National League over the bank holiday weekend as they lost 4-1 at Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday.

Michael Cheek’s goal was only a consolation as the hosts had already netted four times, Junior Morais taking 61 minutes to claim a hat-trick with Mauro Vilhete also on target.

The Ravens beat Scunthorpe United 1-0 on Saturday with Callum Reynolds (second picture, below) settling the contest. Chris Bush (below) was sent off for an alleged stamp on Joe Nuttall.

Bromley are at home to Eastleigh tomorrow.

Dan Bassett’s first-half goal earned Cray Wanderers a 1-0 win over Margate on Monday and moved them up to seventh in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Tooting & Mitcham bounced back from a 1-0 home loss to Marlow on Saturday to record a 2-0 win at Guernsey. Enoch Ako-Adjei and Eddie Mbango struck early and late for the Terrors.

Fisher play their FA Cup first round qualifying tie at home to Spelthorne Sports tomorrow.

The Fish were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Holmesdale in the SCEFL Premier Division on Saturday.

Manny Shoderu’s penalty had put them ahead but it was wiped out by Taylan Ali-Osman.

They progressed in the FA Vase on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Oakwood 3-2 at St Paul’s.

Malachi Coker, Isaac Thompson and Jacob Katonia netted for the South Londoners.
