Oliver Glasner provides Crystal Palace injury news ahead of Luton – Attacker ruled out
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has confirmed Matheus Franca will miss tomorrow’s Premier League clash with a groin injury.
The Brazilian attacker has featured off the bench in both of Glasner’s games in charge so far, assisting and winning a penalty in the 3-0 win over Burnley.
Jeffrey Schlupp has been missing since the 4-1 defeat at Brighton with a quad injury.
Glasner said: “We will miss Franca tomorrow – he has a problem with his groin. But Jeffrey Schlupp took part in the training session today.
“He won’t be in the squad tomorrow, but then we have three weeks with no game, and after the national team break, I expect him to be back in the squad.
“So this gives us more options. It is always good as a manager to have the players on the pitch [rather] than in the gym.”
Eberechi Eze made his first start under Glasner in the 3-1 defeat at Spurs last time out, scoring Palace’s only goal of the game with a free kick in the second half.
The Greenwich-born attacker was withdrawn after 66 minutes having only just returned from a hamstring injury.
He added: “[Eze] did every session from the first until the last minute – he is fit,” Glasner confirmed in his pre-match press conference. “He looks very good, and of course his goal gives him more confidence.
“He was able to play 65 minutes without any problems, so he will play more minutes in this game if everything is fine with him.
“It is not just him: Will Hughes is also in his second week with us in training, and that helps him and all the other players.”
