Oliver Glasner to go full strength against Millwall – but there will be Crystal Palace goalkeeper change

Oliver Glasner says his Crystal Palace side will not need a rest against Millwall but will change the starting goalkeeper for Saturday’s FA Cup clash.

The Eagles host the Lions in an all-South London fifth round cup tie – the first time the two sides have met since 2022.

Glasner’s side played on Tuesday night and convincingly beat Aston Villa 4-1 at Selhurst Park, with Ismaila Sarr, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah scoring.

The Austrian said: “Why should our players need a rest?

“We have played 27 games and four in the EFL Cup. Plus two in the FA Cup and [with this one], that’s 33 games.

“Now it’s not a problem.

“We can have maximum of 49 games if we reach the final. I had 49 games with Frankfurt in every single season.

“If we were talking about 60 or 65 games, then it would be tough. There isn’t really a problem with 49.”

Dean Henderson has been the clear number one under the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss, but Nottingham Forest loanee Matt Turner will be starting against the Championship side.

Turner started the previous two rounds against Stockport and Doncaster.

“Matt will be starting tomorrow,” said Glasner.

“It’s not a gift – it’s deserving.

“I can see his ambition in training. He deserves some games and that’s why he will start tomorrow.”
