Oliver Glasner will not unleash Crystal Palace youngster yet after debut against Nottingham Forest

Olliver Glasner will still look to manage Asher Agbinone’s minutes after the Crystal Palace academy graduate made his senior debut in the 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Monday.

The 19-year-old was subbed on in the 88th minute and impressed during his short cameo.

Agbinone has been on the bench three times this season in the Premier League before being called upon at The City Ground.

When asked if the winger could be seen a bit more regularly to help find a solution for Palace’s attacking problems, Glasner said: “It would be unfair on Asher to demand from him to be the guy who scores the goals for us.

“We brought him on because he has a lot of pace. He can run behind and he created a corner.

“He’s one of our fastest players. He’s a very good talent, but now is not the moment to give all of the responsibility of scoring to a 19-year-old academy player.

“I saw players take responsibility, but it was two unbelievable saves from Sels [to deny] Ebs and Schluppy.

“Twice we hit the post again. There is no one to blame – it’s just me to blame. It’s my responsibility and I will take it.”
