Palace winger reportedly set to miss start of 2023-24 Premier League season through injury

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise looks set to miss the start of the 2023-24 season after suffering a grade three hamstring tear on international duty with France’s U21 side.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Olise could be sidelined for a number of months after suffering the most severe hamstring injury on Sunday night in France’s 1-0 win over Norway.

The 21-year-old bagged his first goal for his country in the 57th minute – scoring the only goal of the game – when he swept Amine Adli’s cross beyond Kristoffer Klaesson.

Former Reading creative spark Olise was forced off in the 65th minute when he collected a pass inside the penalty area and went down after a coming together with Norway stopper Klaesson. He was replaced by Lyon forward Bradley Barcola.

He became the first-ever Palace player last season to record double digits, 11 in total, for assists in an individual Premier League campaign.

Olise was been voted as the Players’ Player of the Season by his Crystal Palace team-mates.
