‘Part of our plans’ – Charlton boss on defender situation as former loan club’s boss in stands for Dartford friendly
Charlton Athletic manager Dean Holden has talked about Deji Elerewe being part of his first-team plans.
Bromley manager Andy Woodman was at the Addicks’ pre-season friendly against Dartford on Saturday.
Elerewe, 19, finished the end of last season on loan with the National League club and scored in their play-off quarter-final win Woking.
The centre-back was then sent off in the 76th minute of their semi-final tie at Chesterfield.
Elerewe started the previous campaign on loan at Wealdstone, making 13 appearances. His sole first-team outing for his parent club last season came in the EFL Trophy defeat to Plymouth.
“Deji is part of our plans,” Holden told the South London Press, when asked about Woodman being in attendance. “He’s shown really well in the first couple of weeks of pre-season. We’ll keep building.”
