Patrick Vieira linked with shock Premier League return after Crystal Palace sacking
Patrick Vieira has been touted as the next possible Nottingham Forest boss should they decide to sack Steve Cooper.
The Daily Mail have reported that Vieira, 46, is a “leading candidate” to replace Cooper at the City Ground if the Forest owners sack the former Swansea boss.
They are also reporting that a defeat for Forest tonight at Leeds United could spell the end of Cooper’s reign.
Vieira was sacked by Crystal Palace before the international break. The South Londoners were the only side in the Premier League without a win in 2023 when the former Arsenal midfielder was relieved of his duties.
Roy Hodgson replaced Vieira until the end of the season and won his first game in charge last weekend, beating fellow relegation rivals Leicester City 2-1.
Forest are 16th in the Premier League table and one point above the bottom three.
French World Cup winner Vieira took charge of the Eagles 74 times, winning 22 times and losing 28 outings in all competitions.
