Player ratings from Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win against Bournemouth – Eze double downs the Cherries as former Watford midfielder produces strong display

Two goals from Eberechi Eze gave Crystal Palace all three points against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Here are Edmund Brack’s player ratings from Selhurst Park:

SAM JOHNSTONE – 6

Did not have a single save to make during the game. Completed 88 per cent of his passes.

JOEL WARD – 6 

Linked up really well down the right with Olise and played a handful of intelligent passes in the attacking phase.

Playing his way into a new deal.

JOACHIM ANDERSEN – 6 

Played a sensational diagonal pass to Zaha in the 41st minute to set up a counter-attack.

MARC GUEHI – 7 

Did not have a lot to do, but coped with the early threat of Dominic Solanke. Won four aerial battles and was not dribbled past.

TYRICK MITCHELL – 7

Dealt with Dango Quattara really well throughout the game. Made three clearances – the most of any Palace player.

CHEICK DOUCOURE – 7

Another top display from the 23-year-old. Coped with Bournemouth’s physical midfield and broke up any advances towards Palace’s goal.

WILL HUGHES – 8

Really good performance for the former Watford man, winning three of his four tackles.

Took aim from distance minutes into the second half, thumping an effort from the edge of the box, which was well saved by Neto.

EBRECHI EZE – 8

Gave Palace the lead with a good finish in the 39th minute, smashing the ball beyond Neto from close range.

A stunning move to shift the ball onto his right foot and thump his shot into the top right-hand corner to double Palace’s advantage in the second half.

Took his two goals really well.

MICHAEL OLISE – 7

Electric in the second half. Played a sensational ball to Eze for Palace’s second and gave Lloyd Kelly a headache all throughout the second 45.

Became the first Palace player to reach double figures – 10 – for assists in a Premier League season.

WILFRIED ZAHA – 8

Spun Chris Mepham and found Ayew to set up Palace’s first. Could have been awarded a penalty in the first half too, being brought down by the Welsh centre-back as he advanced towards Neto’s goal.

Was forced off early in the second half with a hamstring injury. Hopefully, it’s not his last dance on the Selhurst stage.

The scoreline would have been more if he was on the pitch for the full 90.

JORDAN AYEW – 6 

Flicked the ball on for Eze to open the scoring. Worked hard throughout.

ODSONNE EDOUARD – 7 

Worked really hard when leading the line after replacing Zaha. Will get another chance with Zaha likely to miss the rest of the season.

JAIRO RIEDEWALD – 6 

Got involved and had an ambitious effort from the edge of the box that went wide.
