QPR boss backs Lyndon Dykes to re-find his scoring touch at Loftus Road
Marti Cifuentes believes that Lyndon Dykes will soon get himself back on the scoresheet for QPR despite his recent run without a goal.
The Scottish international has found the net just once so far this season and is currently on a nine-game run without scoring for Rangers.
But Cifuentes was keen to stress that Dykes has contributed throughout the Spaniard’s first three games in charge even though he has failed to register a shot on target.
“Many times we rate strikers just on how many goals they score, but I try to look at it in a deeper way,” explained the R’s boss.
“He [Dykes] has been working well and trying to help the team in all of the different areas that we ask him.
“We have been speaking about how we can get more from him. I think he is very committed to it.”
Cifuentes added: “We need to create more chances for him. My main job in that sense is to create the situations where he can finish the actions.
“I’m sure he can score at any minute.”
Dykes came off in the weekend defeat to Norwich after taking a knock, but Cifuentes confirmed that the striker will be fit to feature in Today’s game against Stoke City
