QPR boss Cifuentes confident he has board backing despite being bottom of Championship
The west Londoners are without a win in their last 12 outings in all competitions and have won just once in their first 15 Championship games this season.
Cifuentes signed a new long-term deal along with his assistant Xavi Calm in September.
Key players Ilias Chair, Karamoko Dembele, Jake Clarke-Salter, Michael Frey, Kenneth Paal and Morgan Fox are all sidelined.
“I receive a lot of confidence from the club and I work as always,” said the Spaniard.
“I’ve not been saying much about it (the injury problems), but we are approaching the international break, and the main priority now is to recover players.
“We’ve got nine players out. Nine. With a squad like ours, it’s very difficult, especially when many of those players are very important.
“Is it an excuse? No. We need to do better, compete better and get more from games.
“The players are showing that they really want to try and really want to turn the situation around. It’s in our hands to turn the situation around.
“The important thing is that we’re now going to get some time to recover some players
“Football has no memory. Football is tough, this league is tough and when you are in a trend like this you must get everyone back and push.”
