QPR boss Warburton: We were fortunate to take maximum points at Coventry City

Mark Warburton admitted that QPR were fortunate to beat Coventry City on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Andre Gray and Albert Adomah (pictured) gave the R’s all three points after Jordan Shipley had levelled for the hosts.

Warburton said: “Coventry were excellent and we were way below our best. They moved the ball well with purpose and cleverness.

“Had we emerged from the game with a point I would have said we were fortunate, so that was very much the case for us to emerge with all three. But that’s football and that’s the Championship. The players found a way to win today.

“If you are below your best and you find a way to emerge with all three points, that’s the sign of a good team.

“It’s all about the next game, it’s as simple as that. There are too many points left to fight for to think about anything else. All we can worry about is QPR.

“We know we are a good team but this division is full of good teams. We know what we have to do to win games of football, but we saw against Coventry that we have to recognise quicker when we don’t play well what we need to do to change things, both individually and collectively.”
