QPR cancel midfielder’s deal

QPR have cancelled the contract of midfielder George Thomas by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old midfielder made 46 appearances in all competitions for the R’s after signing from Leicester City in July 2020.

QPR also allowed defender Niko Hamalainen to join Belgian outfit White Daring Molenbeek on loan.

The west London club will look to revive their flagging Championship play-off hopes at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Neil Critchley’s side were beaten 3-0 at Hull City last weekend, stretching their winless league run to six matches. They are 14th in the standings.

QPR have not won since a 1-0 success at Preston on December 17.

Amazingly they are still only five points behind sixth-placed Blackburn despite one victory in their last 13 matches.

The R’s have taken eight points from a possible 36.
