QPR have no issues with John Eustace taking on Republic of Ireland coaching duties

QPR assistant manager John Eustace has joined the Republic of Ireland’s backroom team.

The 42-year-old Brummie is helping Stephen Kenny prepare for friendlies against Belgium and Lithuania after agreeing to become his assistant coach.

The role is only part time and will not affect Eustace’s duties at the west London club.

“As a young coach I want to keep developing and keep learning, and this gives me the opportunity to do that,” Eustace told QPR’s official website.

“Hopefully this experience will benefit me and benefit QPR.”

Rangers boss Mark Warburton confirmed Eustace’s decision had his complete blessing.

“From QPR’s perspective, there is no negative impact for us, every party benefits,” he said. “John gains great experience on the international stage and that can only be good for us.

“I am looking forward to seeing John continue his development as a coach and I have no doubts he will be an excellent manager in the future.”
