QPR sign former Sunderland and Nottingham Forest midfielder

QPR have confirmed the signing of Jack Colback following his departure from Nottingham Forest over the summer.

The 33-year-old has penned a two-year deal – with an option for a further year – at Loftus Road.

Colback came through at Sunderland’s academy and made more than 100 appearances for the first team.

He has also had spells at Ipswich and Newcastle during his career.

Colback was released by Premier League side Forest at the end of last season after making 11 top flight appearances.

He told QPR’s official website: “I’m happy and excited to get going.

“It will be nice to get the training kit on and get out there with the lads.

“I’m excited to be part of what the manager wants to do here. It was an easy decision.”

Boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “I am really pleased to bring Jack in. He is a great player and he had one or two other suitors but he chose QPR because he wants to buy into what we are trying to do here, which is great.

“He will add energy and experience to us. He has got quality on the ball, but he has tenacity off it and a winning mentality, which will hopefully be contagious.”
