QPR’s Chris Willock has special dedication for his goal at Blackpool
QPR attacker Chris Willock has dedicated his goal against Blackpool to his late uncle.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring at Bloomfield Road last weekend.
“It’s been a hard time for my family with my uncle passing away, but that goal was dedicated to him,” said Willock. “Obviously this was the reason as to why I missed the game against Cardiff. You could see the emotions when I scored, it was really pleasing that I could get that goal for him.”
Rangers occupy the final play-off spot and resume their Championship campaign with a home night game against Luton Town on November 19.
Some of the boys will now go away for the international break but hopefully they will come back safe and sound,” said Willock. “We can recharge our batteries and go again, starting with Luton on the Friday night.”
George Thomas, Sam Field, Lee Wallace and Charlie Owens all boosted their fitness with runouts in the U23s’ 4-2 win over Ipswich on Tuesday. Charlie Kelman scored a hat-trick.
