Released Palace defender signs for National League South side

Released Crystal Palace defender Dan Quick has signed for National League South side Eastbourne Borough.

The 20-year-old was released by the Eagles this summer after loan spells at National League side Dorking Wanderers and Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Billericay Town.

Versatile defender Quick was a part of Patrick Vieira’s pre-season tour of Singapore and Australia, playing against Manchester United after coming on as a substitute.

Josh Addae, Ryan Bartley, Kalani Barton, Freddie Bell, David Boateng, Maliq Cadogan, Junior Dixon, James Leonard, Cameron Lewis-Brown, Reece Hannam, David Omilabu, Dan Quick, Basilio Socoliche and Matty Vigor were all released by the Eagles this summer.

Academy director Gary Issott said: “The academy players of the club deserve great recognition for their commitment and desire to improve their personal development, which is an ongoing process.

“Each and every one of them should be proud to have represented this club throughout their time at academy level. With this experience, and the support of our player care programme, departing players will be helped as much as possible as they progress on to the next stages of their careers.”

Eastbourne finished eighth in the National League South last season.
