Released Sheffield United defender on trial with AFC Wimbledon

Former Sheffield United youngster Jean Belehouan is on trial with AFC Wimbledon.

The 22-year-old started and played just 50 minutes in the pre-season clash against League One side Portsmouth before being forced off with an injury.

He started at right-back in a four-player defence alongside Ethan Sutcliffe, Alex Pearce and Lee Brown.

Belehouan, who has had loan spells at Halifax Town and Boston United, was released by Sheffield United at the end of last season following their promotion to the Premier League.

Right-back Huseyin Biler missed out on Saturday’s 1-1 against QPR at Plough Lane after picking up a knock in training and was absent again against John Mousinho’s side.

Fellow academy graduate Isaac Ogundere can also play at right-back and started the draw with Gareth Ainsworth’s side on the weekend.
