Report: AFC Wimbledon closing in on deal for Chelsea midfielder

AFC Wimbledon have reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign Chelsea midfielder Luke McCormick.

McCormick made 43 appearances at Bristol Rovers last season and scored six goals at The Memorial Stadium.

Football Insider are reporting that negotiations have progressed well and the 22-year-old is expected to join the Dons following a breakthrough in talks.

The website adds that McCormick will sign on a free transfer but there will be a sell-on clause involved in the deal.

McCormick has never made a senior appearance for Chelsea since signing for them in 2019.
