Report: Fulham looking to secure manager Marco Silva on new contract
Fulham are reportedly keen to secure manager Marco Silva on a new contract.
The Portuguese boss has been a storming success in west London, leading the Whites to the Championship title in his first season in charge.
And Fulham have powered on in the Premier League. Saturday’s 2-0 win at Hull City in the FA Cup made it four wins on the spin, three in the top-flight, and they are seventh in the standings ahead of tonight’s derby against Chelsea at Craven Cottage.
Silva has less than 18 months to run on his terms and the Daily Mail is reporting that club chiefs want to extend his stay.
“Formal discussions over a new deal are yet to commence, however Silva is understood to be aware of the club’s intention to extend his contract,” said the publication.
“Ideally, Fulham would like an agreement in place by the end of the season as they look to avoid any uncertainty over their manager’s future.
“It remains to be seen whether negotiating a new contract for Silva turns out to be straightforward, though it is important to stress the Portuguese is said to have a good relationship with the club’s board.”
