Roy Hodgson confirms Crystal Palace winger needed surgery on injury
Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has had an operation on his hamstring injury and is expected to miss the start of the season.
The former Reading creative spark suffered a grade three tear.
Our paper reported over the weekend that Olise had required surgery on the hamstring injury he picked up on international duty with France’s U21 side.
And the Palace boss confirmed in an in-house interview with the club that the 21-year-old has had an operation.
“We’ve known since the injury that it’s going to take a while for him to get fit again”, Hodgson told PalaceTV.
“It was a serious injury which required an operation. He’s well into his rehabilitation, but it’s going to take a bit longer for him to recover.
“At the moment, we’re just hoping that the rehabilitation will go well and that we get him back as quickly as possible. But we certainly we won’t be seeing him for a period of time.”
