Roy Hodgson makes admission over Crystal Palace future ahead of Nottingham Forest
Roy Hodgson has hinted that Sunday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest will be his final game in charge of Crystal Palace.
The 75-year-old replaced Patrick Vieira for the final 10 games of the season and has kept the Eagles in the Premier League for an 11th consecutive campaign.
Former Liverpool and England boss Hodgson has won five of his nine games in charge at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles can finish 11th in the table this weekend if they claim all three points against Steve Cooper’s side, who secured their safety last weekend.
Asked about his future ahead of Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Hodgson said: “I signed a contract until the end of the season here, I was very happy to do so, I’m grateful to be given the opportunity.
“All along, I have seen this as my last game on my contract, as far as I am concerned, that is what it is.
“I don’t know, I’ll wait until the day arrives, if it ever arrives, I’ll make a decision then. I don’t have to concern myself for that, what’s on the table for me at the moment is to see my contract out, thank everyone for the wonderful time I’ve had these last two and a half months and hopefully help the team to get a result in their last game like we’ve been able to do in the last nine.”
