Scott Minto reveals which loan players he believes Charlton Athletic should move for in transfer window

Scott Minto is hoping that Charlton will be able to keep hold of Jayden Stockley and Akin Famewo.

The former Addicks left-back, who hosted Charlton TV from the start of December, has picked the pair out when asked which of the loanees he thinks Nigel Adkins should try and keep.

Stockley has already gone public with his desire to sign for the South London club. He has 12 months to run on his contract at Preston North End, but the indications are they are ready to listen to offers for the centre-forward.

Centre-back Famewo was also a temporary signing on a season-long loan from Norwich City. The Canaries have won promotion back to the Premier League, reducing the 22-year-old’s chances of breaking in at his parent club.

“As much as I like to think left-back is the most important position, the spine of the team is the most important,” Minto told the South London Press.

“I would say getting Akin and Jayden would be absolutely key. And if they can get Liam Millar as well, who I know Curbs [Alan Curbishley] liked a lot, for a whole year then he could do the business as well.

“It’s difficult to pick just one. If you put Jayden on a three-year contract I think he’s the type of player who would be absolutely spot on in League One, but also step up and do the business in the Championship. Akin would be the same.”
