Sheffield United set to win loan race to sign Crystal Palace winger

Sheffield United are set to win the loan race to sign Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, the South London Press understands.

Rak-Sakyi is set for a medical with the Blades today ahead of a season-long loan move.

Leeds made a last-minute permanent enquiry to sign the former Charlton loanee, but the Eagles knocked back the approach.

Norwich City also made a late attempt to sign Rak-Sakyi after Jonathan Rowe pulled out of their matchday squad against Oxford over the weekend.

However, Chris Wilder’s side are set to win the race for the talented youngster.

More than half of the Championship wanted to sign the Southwark-raised winger this summer, with Premier League side Southampton also submitting a loan-to-buy offer to the South Londoners.

European sides Lyon and Anderlecht were also keen on a loan deal for Rak-Sakyi.

He netted a double against League One side Crawley Town and also scored in a 1-1 draw against Charlton for Oliver Glasner’s side.
