‘Smarting’ – Milton Keynes head coach makes Charlton prediction after their 6-0 defeat at Ipswich
Milton Keynes head coach Mark Jackson is predicting a reaction from the Charlton Athletic squad this evening following their 6-0 defeat at Ipswich on Saturday.
Milton Keynes, who are unbeaten in their last five outings, sit three points above the League One relegation zone.
Dean Holden’s Charlton are 11th in the table but suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Ipswich Town last time out.
The reverse fixture saw Milton Keynes win 2-0 at The Valley back in October, thanks to goals from Will Grigg and Bradley Johnson.
“They will be smarting a little bit after their defeat,” said Milton Keynes boss Mark Jackson.
“We have to be prepared for them to have a reaction. One thing we will bring to the game is that hunger to get the three boys and to put in a strong performance like we did the other day.
“We’re really buoyed at the minute by the run of results and form we have been on. The team are looking strong, ready and focused.
“They’re also a really dangerous team, with good wide players, in particular, who can be really threatening.
“We’ll need to be ready for their threat, but we also need to be ready to bring to the game what we need to do to in order to hurt them. As always, we’ll be prepared to try and get three points, which would be really important to us.”
