St Francesca Cabrini unbeaten in tournament but miss out on national finals at Villa Park

St Francesca Cabrini Primary School’s seven-a-side team finished second in their group in the South-East England regional finals at Thamesmead Town.

The Honor Oak school will close in September because of a funding gap caused by falling pupil admissions.

St Francesca Cabrini, left, are South London and Inner London Schools champions and were in the small schools category.

Eight schools competed in two groups of four with the top team qualifying for the national finals at Villa Park.

St Francesca Cabrini drew 0-0 with St Andrews (Herts) and St Peters (Beds).

Their final match ended 1-1 against Loyola Prep (Essex) and they finished second in their group.

Michael Brady’s team were undefeated in the competition.
