Stoke City’s Benik Afobe set for medical this morning ahead of Millwall loan switch

Benik Afobe is set to undergo a medical this morning ahead of wrapping up a loan move to Millwall.

We exclusively broke the news yesterday that the Stoke City striker was set for a season-long switch to SE16.

It will be the second time that Afobe has joined the Lions on a temporary basis after a previous loan in 2013 when he was on Arsenal’s books.

The 28-year-old Londoner, who has been capped by DR Congo, has been the subject of £10million moves to both AFC Bournemouth and Wolves.

Millwall took Troy Parrott and Kenneth Zohore on loan from Tottenham and West Brom respectively last season.

Now they will hope that Afobe, who has scored 85 goals in 335 matches, can boost their firepower.

Gary Rowett is a big admirer of the striker and signed him in 2018 when he was in charge of Stoke.
