Sutton United loan return for Millwall striker

Millwall striker Isaac Olaofe is rejoining Sutton United on loan.

The 21-year-old forward scored 14 goals in 37 appearances for them last season as they won the National League title.

Olaofe was set to feature for Millwall in pre-season but suffered a groin injury while the club was on a training camp in Scotland.

Lions manager Gary Rowett confirmed there would be January recall options on the deals involving Olaofe and centre-back Alex Mitchell, who will complete a temporary move to Leyton Orient today.

“Ideally Tanto [Olaofe] would have had some training opportunity with us,” Rowett told the South London Press earlier this week. “He’s not had the chance to do that. Realistically whilst I’d love him to hang around and see if he can get fit and in and around our team – I also think he’s done so well last season at Sutton, scoring the goals, that we need to keep that momentum going. The safest best for his development is to go out and play some games.”
