Table tennis – Trio are going for gold

Three talented Lewisham players will go for table tennis gold later this month after winning their age group competitions.

More than 110 boys and girls from 16 schools competed in four age groups in an east London qualifying tournament, with their eyes on a place in the finals of the Jack Petchey London Schools’ Individual Table Tennis competition on April 25.

Among the winners were three students from Addey and Stanhope School, New Cross Road -Mamadou Bamba in the U13 boys’ event, Jazmen Belay in the U13 girls and Olivia Stabrauskaite in the U19 girls.

They all made their way through group and knockout stages to get to their respective finals.
