‘They threw everything at us’ – Lincoln boss pleased with point at Charlton
Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala was pleased with his side’s point at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday evening.
Skubala’s side took the lead via ex-Addick Reeco Hackett in the 37th minute, but Nathan Jones subbed on Chucks Aneke and Freddie Ladapo in the second half.
The attacking duo combined for Charlton’s equaliser in the 73rd minute when Ipswich loanee Ladapo opened his account for the club.
It was the first point the South Londoners had picked up under the former Southampton and Luton boss.
Skubala said: “When you look across the two halves, we were better in the first half but they came out in the second half and threw everything at us.
“In the end, it was a really good point. The way we stood up to their attacks and the noise in the stadium – it was a good away point for us.
“We pretty much knew, with the change of style of them, that they were going to put it on us.
“We knew we had to deal with that and we did well in the last 20 minutes to hold out for the point.
“We have dug out a really good point on the road.”
