Thomas Sandgaard: I think it’s a done deal, I want my takeover of Charlton completed this week

Thomas Sandgaard wants to complete his takeover of Charlton Athletic this week after a judge denied Paul Elliott an injunction to halt Panorama Magic from selling the club to someone else.
The courtroom result leaves the door open for Danish businessman Sandgaard to try and complete his purchase of the South Londoners from Tahnoon Nimer and Matt Southall.
Danish businessman Sandgaard has flown into the UK this week and watched two Addicks games as he hopes to get his deal over the line.
“It’s very exciting that we got that hurdle out of the way,” said Sandgaard of the failed injunction, speaking as he watched the closing stages of Charlton’s 2-1 EFL Trophy defeat against AFC Wimbledon.
“It’s very close. Unless any more surprises come up, I think this is a done deal. All the parties involved now seem to be happy about where it’s going. That’s what it takes when you want to make a deal. You want to make sure everybody is, if not pleased, all equally unhappy about the deal. It seems like everybody seems to be pleased.”
“It’s nice to know who we’re dealing with. We’ve made a lot of progress in terms of negotiating with the parties. This is going to make everything easier now. I’m confident we’ll make it happen.
“I’d seen a lot of the details. I don’t really think the judge could have ruled any other way. Absolutely, [it made me happy]. I love this club already.”
“I always try to upgrade pretty quickly. My expectation is that we get it all done this week whilst I’m in town. I’m here until Sunday – I hope to get up to Swindon on Saturday to see the game.”
Sandgaard added that he wanted to help boss Lee Bowyer build a competitive squad for their upcoming League One campaign.
He said:”We still have a few days left before October 5th when the transfer window closes. Hopefully we can do as much as possible and he can have the confidence that he can build the best possible team for at least this part of the season. We’ve got another transfer window again in January. But getting off to the season in a good way is going to be important.”
