Thomas Sandgaard not likely to make swift Charlton Athletic boss appointment

Thomas Sandgaard has indicated it will be “weeks rather than days” to appoint a new Charlton Athletic manager.

The US-based Dane dismissed Ben Garner a week ago.

And there had been a report that a football agency were looking to buy the League One club and use it to showcase their clients.

But fan advisers Lucy Bishop and Lewis Catt posted a partial update from Sandgaard this evening during tonight’s Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust meeting to discuss their concerns over the running of the club.

Bishop wrote: “It might help this discussion/group to flag that Lewis and I had a call with Thomas this evening to discuss the dismissal of Ben Garner and growing uncertainty around the club in terms of a potential sale.

“Thomas explained that the process to appoint a new manager is underway, but we understand that this will likely take weeks rather than days. He also rubbished the rumours linking an agency with the takeover of the club as ‘garbage’.”
