Tom Bradshaw set to hit Millwall milestone appearance after triggering contract extension

Tom Bradshaw is set to go past the 200-game barrier for Millwall after activating an appearance clause in his contract.

The Wales international, who is on 195 matches for the Lions and 44 goals, had been due to become a free agent in the summer.

But Bradshaw – like Ryan Leonard and George Saville – had a trigger in his terms if he played enough games.

The forward, who turns 32 in late July, has scored four times in 31 appearances this season – a drop from the 16 he bagged in the previous campaign.

“He is such a positive person and a good personality at the training ground,” Millwall head coach Neil Harris told the South London Press.

“He is an infectious player on the pitch.

“He has a terrific habit of being able to pop up at times and score goals out of nothing, which is something we have missed over the last few weeks.

“It’s no coincidence that we’ve had Bradders in the last couple of matchday squads and we’ve had positive outcomes. To only have one fit number nine, in Michael Obafemi, has been difficult for the group. So to have Tom and Kevin (Nisbet) pushing back is great.

“Bradders plays with so much energy and desire that he drags the team forward at key moments.

“He’s another player – like Lenny and George – who has a real winners’ mentality.

“I’m looking forward to working with Bradders over the coming months because he is another player who has, with time, developed his game as he has aged.

“He has got so much to offer in a Millwall number nine shirt – not just from the start but off the bench as well.

“He makes players around him better.”
