Tomorrow is looking a key day for Millwall winger

Tyler Burey will need to train tomorrow to put himself in contention for Millwall’s match at Sunderland on Saturday.

The winger missed Saturday’s friendly against Brondby on Saturday at The Den and also a training ground fixture yesterday.

Millwall kick back into Championship action at the Stadium of Light this weekend.

“He [Burey] has been ill for the best part of seven to 10 days,” said Lions boss Gary Rowett. “The first week [off] and the week we’ve had training. We had the Brondby game and a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday and he wasn’t involved in that, we felt it would be too quick.

“If he has got through Monday and Tuesday’s training fine then he’ll have completed both with no ill-effects. He’ll be in Thursday competing for a place to go to Sunderland.

“Lenny [Ryan Leonard] and Benik [Afobe] aren’t quite there yet, they are going to need a little bit more time.

“We’ll have to be patient. It’s about getting them out there and keeping them out there.”
