Tooting & Mitcham chairman appeals for cash support for club as community projects under threat

Tooting & Mitcham have launched an appeal for cash support as the club battles the financial effects of lockdown.
The Terrors have created a crowdfunding page to help the club during the global COVID-19 pandemic to continue the wide range of community activities they undertake.
A statement from club said: “We are exploring all avenues to raise money, but this has proved unsuccessful so far; so we want to give others the opportunity to be involved and are asking for donations to enable the club to continue their activities next season.
“Our football pathway for younger terrors starts with the kickers from five years old, includes youth teams from U12-U16, our football academy programme for 16-18 years, leading to the U23s – and the first team who play in the Isthmian League.
“The club is a vital facility for the local community not only providing sports facilities for several sports including football, lacrosse, cricket, rugby, local schools and disability organisations but also
educational, health and social opportunities.
“The club understand this is a difficult time for everyone and normally would not ask for donations but anything that can be spared would be welcomed.”
The statement says supporters can choose to donate amounts from £10 upwards; or packages for next season including a £50 mascot package, £75 match ball sponsorship, £250 match day sponsorship; or businesses can become a friend of Tooting & Mitcham United FC for £500 which includes pitch side advertising, season tickets, website and social media advertising.
Chairwoman Caroline McRoyall said: “Utility bills are mounting up so we are looking for help where possible. We have also recently completed our pitch renovation works so the club can be ready to use them as soon as we can start again.”
Everyone who makes a donation will be entered into a draw to win one of the
following prizes;

● A Tooting & Mitcham shirt signed by
Michail Antonio, a former player now at
West Ham
● A pair of season tickets.
● Free entry to a game of your choice
including board room hospitality.
