Tunnel bust-up is final straw as Dulwich Hamlet boss wants up to six players to go

Gavin Rose is ready to ship up to six of his Dulwich Hamlet squad out the exit door.
And the Hamlet manager reckons a tunnel bust-up after the 2-1 defeat at Eastbourne Borough on New Year’s Day only supplies further evidence that change is needed.
“There was an incident afterwards where the two teams had a clash,” said Rose. “That is nothing to do with what we are trying to achieve as a club.
“It sums the lads up at the moment. They are not focused on the job in hand and they are finding it very difficult to stay with the standards we are trying to create.
“There will be some disciplinary action taken and a few might be leaving off the back of both that but also the performance. I’m expecting it to be five or six who will go – we need that in order for us to change the culture in the dressing room.”
Rose has extended Jason Banton’s loan from Torquay United for another month.
“He has been with us for a month and has played four matches in that time – we’ve seen glimpses of him being a really good player for us,” said the Hamlet chief.
“But this month we’ll be looking for a bit more in terms of goals and assists. If he can do that then we’ll probably end up taking him permanently.”
Rose is hoping to have experienced centre-back Magnus Okuonghae back for tomorrow’s home game against Bath City.
“I’d hope that at the very least he could be on the bench for us,” said Rose. “He has had a slight knee injury since we played Torquay and has been out for a month now.”
Dipo Akinyemi scored Dulwich’s goal at Borough’s Priory Lane.
