Two further additions extend Charlton’s injury list ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Bristol Rovers

Charlton boss Dean Holden has confirmed that new recruit Terry Taylor and Dialliang Jaiyesimi were also injured ahead of today’s trip to Peterborough.

The Addicks manager had earlier revealed that Scott Fraser and Tyreece Campbell were both set for a number of weeks out after picking up knocks during the first week of the campaign.

Taylor made his Addicks debut during the EFL Cup loss to Newport County on Tuesday, whilst Jaiyesimi is yet to feature this season.

Those additions mean the South Londoners now have eight players out injured, with Richard Chin and Manny Egbo both also side-lined after the trip to Rodney Parade. Miles Leaburn and Chuks Aneke are absentees up front.

Holden said: “Terry felt something in his knee [after Newport]. He reported it Wednesday morning. We looked into it and thankfully it’s nothing to be too worried about in the scan but he was feeling something in his knee so he wasn’t available today.

“DJ felt something in his back a couple of days ago so he wasn’t available to us.

“[Fraser] picked something up in his calf towards the end of the game with Leyton Orient. It’s going to be a number of weeks. It’s not going to be that we’ll have him back in the next couple of weeks, certainly. We’ll have to see how that is and how he recovers from it.

“Tyreece won’t be as bad as Scotty’s, maybe two, three, four weeks but again we’ll have to see.

“They’ve been two big misses for us. They both played really well last week. But no excuses, we go again on Tuesday [against Bristol Rovers]. Two home games in a week and I look forward to seeing our fans behind us again.

“Maybe one back for Tuesday but there might be one or two from today who might not make it. We’re a little bit light at the moment. We’re working hard to continue to improve the team and the squad. These things take time so for now we have to go with what we’ve got and make sure we bounce back on Tuesday.”
