Tyler Burey training with Millwall U21s and will not feature in pre-season friendly at Gillingham

Tyler Burey has been training with Millwall’s U21 players and will not feature in today’s pre-season friendly at Gillingham.

The former AFC Wimbledon youngster is seeking a move away from the Lions and also was not part of their training camp in Spain.

Oxford United had been interested in a deal for Burey but a transfer failed to come to fruition.

The 22-year-old winger has made 53 Championship appearances for Millwall and scored three goals.

Gary Rowett told our paper in June that Burey could be moving on. He said: Tyler has been in and around the squad and starting line-up for probably a couple of seasons now.

“For any young player, at some point, maybe they just need that fresh start and opportunity to play games on a more regular basis.

“It’s something that I think we’re probably looking at, with Tyler, and I think it would be something that he is keen on. Whether that opportunity works (for Burey to leave), I’m not sure.”
