Tyson Fury targets Joe Joyce fight in February at Wembley if Usyk unification showdown can’t be agreed
Tyson Fury says he wants to fight Joe Joyce at Wembley Stadium in February if he cannot secure a bout with Oleksandr Usyk with all the major world heavyweight titles on the line.
Fury defends his WBC title on December 3 with a third meeting against Dereck Chisora.
And the reigning champion is targeting either Usyk – who has held the WBA, IBF and WBO belts since 2021 – or Putney’s Joyce.
“If Usyk don’t want no smoke in February then let’s do Joyce at Wembley,” said Fury, talking to Queensberry Promotions’ YouTube channel. “Joe, put your skates on and get fit mush. Because if the middleweight [Usyk] don’t want no smoke, you’re in – because I’m fighting three times next year and you can be one of them.
“I’m back December 3, followed by February and if Usyk don’t want no smoke in February we go after Joe, because he is, in my opinion, the number-two ranked heavyweight behind myself. Maybe third, because I don’t think anybody in the world can take Deontay Wilder’s power – only myself.”
Joyce is 15-0 as a professional and is on a run of five successive stoppage victories. The latest saw him defeat former WBO champion Joseph Parker in Manchester in September.
