‘Unbelievable’ – Charlton centre-back on winning man of the match award on full debut for Bromley

Bromley loanee Deji Elerewe has given his thoughts on their 2-1 defeat at the hands of National League leaders Wrexham on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Charlton centre-back made his full debut for the Ravens and gave an impressive showing, being named their man of the match.
Elerewe said: “The team played very well. Wrexham are a tough team, so making them work hard is always important. I feel that as a team we worked our socks off and worked hard to try and get a result.”
The Ravens fielded a very inexperienced team, with nine of the starting 11 being 22 or under.
Elerewe was content with how he competed individually, with the defender playing against the National League’s top scorer, Paul Mullin.
“I feel like I did okay,” said Elerewe. “He’s a handful, obviously, a very good player. He’s a tough opponent for anyone but I feel that I applied myself well.”
The youngster was delighted at being named man of the match in such a tough first start for the club.
“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “I didn’t expect it in my first game, especially against Wrexham and in front of 5,000 fans. It’s unbelievable.”
Bromley head to struggling Yeovil Town on Saturday, with the game being a vital one for the club if they are to make a late run towards the play-offs.
Elerewe said: “Never say never (on making the play-offs). I’m confident we can get a result, and I feel like we have given ourselves a good platform now to build on.”
