Update on injury timeline for Millwall fans’ favourite Casper De Norre

Casper De Norre is still on schedule to be back in full training for Millwall early in 2024.

The summer signing from OH Leuven had quickly become a fans’ favourite for his performances in the middle of the park.

But De Norre has sat out the last four Championship fixtures with a calf injury that also affects his Achilles.

The 26-year-old is now on the AlterG Anti-Gravity treadmill which uses air to reduce a user’s bodyweight.

“He is progressing with his rehab,” Edwards told the South London Press. “At the moment he is still on course for what we originally thought to return to training around mid-January.

“When you get to that stage, with the length of injury it has been, it’s obviously a reasonable amount of time but it isn’t a severely long-term one.

“It will then come down to what he is like as a player himself. Some players have natural fitness levels – some are quicker to return to sessions than others. Some come back looking like they have been out that long or even longer. He might be one if he ends up progressing well, if he picks up a good fitness level base just from that end stage rehab, he might hit the ground running as soon as he joins the rest of the team. That would mean you could drop him back in quickly.

“For a player who hasn’t got a major history of injuries, we’re probably going to have to wait and see on that as well.”
