Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth want Crystal Palace midfielder on loan

Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle want to take Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh on loan for next season.

Argyle sporting director Neil Dewsnip wanted to sign the 19-year-old on loan in January, but the Eagles opted to keep Ozoh for the second half of their Premier League campaign.

The academy graduate will be allowed to temporarily leave for his first taste of senior football away from Selhurst Park.

Ozoh made 12 appearances for the Eagles in the last campaign, including an impressive substitute outing in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

Plymouth finished 21st in the second tier last season but appointed Manchester United legend Rooney over the summer as Ian Foster’s permanent replacement.
