‘We might ask owners for a little bit more’ – Nathan Jones still eyeing more transfer deals for Charlton Athletic
Nathan Jones is hoping that he will be cleared to make more additions to his Charlton Athletic squad even if they are not able to trim the playing squad as much as desired.
The Addicks have made seven additions during the summer transfer window.
It had looked as if Charlton needed outgoings before they added further.
American backers Joshua Friedman, Gabriel Brener and Warren Rosenfold were in the directors’ box for today’s 1-0 win over Wigan which made it a perfect start to the League One campaign.
Jones – asked about the possibility of incoming transfers – told the South London Press: “We have got the owners here today, so they have seen something today they can get behind.
“We might ask them for a little bit more.

“We always want to get better. Every window at this football club will get better, in terms of whether it is one, two or three players or – this year – seven.
“They have backed us straight away and said: ‘What do you want?’ We have said: ‘We need that immediately. They have gone and backed us. That is magnificent.
“Now we are saying: ‘Okay, we’ve still got a couple of weeks of the window – we are in a good place but we need a little bit more here, can we have it?’ I have no doubt they will back us.”
