Winger agrees new Charlton Athletic deal as League One club confirm departures

Charlton winger Tyreece Campbell has agreed to sign a new deal – with the League One club also announcing which players will be leaving when their contracts expire at the end of June.

The Addicks have come to an agreement with Campbell, with the 20-year-old attacker set to stay with Nathan Jones’ squad.

But Charlton have also confirmed that Michael Hector, Terell Thomas, Richard Chin, Lewis Ward, Jack Payne and Diallang Jaiyesimi will all be released.

And Connor Wickham and Kazenga LuaLua, who both arrived on short-term deals after the January transfer window had closed, are also not being retained.

The South London Press already revealed that Thierry Small has been offered a long-term contract and the Addicks will trigger a 12-month option if they cannot reach agreement with the former Southampton and Everton defender.

Charlton have also made no reference to any ongoing talks with George Dobson, who signed a pre-contract agreement with Fehervar in February.

In a statement on their official website, the Addicks said: “Everyone at the club would like to thank every player who is leaving for their efforts during their time at Charlton and wish them the very best of luck for the future,”

“In particular, the club would like to thank George Dobson, who has played 144 games for Charlton since joining in 2021. He’s given his all for the club in every training session and every game and everyone at the club wishes him all the best in Hungary.”
