Winger leaves AFC Wimbledon and pens three-year deal at League Two rivals

Ronan Curtis has signed for League Two rivals Port Vale after leaving AFC Wimbledon at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old initially began training with the Dons to recover from an ACL injury he suffered towards the end of his spell with League One side Portsmouth.

But Curtis ended up signing a deal with the South Londoners in January until the end of the season.

He scored five goals – including a last-minute winner over Milton Keynes at Plough Lane – in 17 appearances for AFC Wimbledon.

Port Vale were relegated from League One last season and will be looking to win promotion at the first time of asking under Darren Moore.

“I am delighted to welcome Ronan to the Vale,” Moore told Port Vale’s official website.

.“He’s a player with a proven calibre above League Two level and we are really pleased that he has chosen to commit to the club long-term amidst strong interest in both League One and League Two.”
